Got my copy of "Kitchen of Distinction" recently. WOW! I didn't think Charlie would ever record again - let alone such a stupendously great album. At first, I thought it was a tad too heavy with only very few of the trademark harmony vocals. But after the 2nd and 3rd listen, I couldn't get this thing out of my CD player anymore - but then, I didn't try!
It's one of the best albums in recent years - period!
The only criticism - if that is what it is - is that there is maybe a little too much name dropping. But that's only a minor thing.

As usual, fantastic music, crunchy, rhythmic guitars, great lyrics (scathing), and Terry's trademark voice. Could we have more Charlie CDs, PLEASE?

Thanks so much for the memories - and now music again.

Cheers from Germany

I concur with Steve.

It was because of this site, that I (and possibly many more) 'found' CHARLIE again.

Ralf - thanks for keeping the memories alive

Shame to see this site domain up for sale.

I suspect that this is due to the new Charlie site set up by the band at
http://www.charlie-music.com/

I would like to thank Ralf (webmaster) for this site as it has been a source of valuable information on the band since its inception and instrumental in keeping the memories alive.

If I can find the cassette, and you've got someone who'd transcribe it for the site, I can provide a very extensive interview done with Terry back in 1984 for the American Source (NBC) Radio Network. It's a good interview -- I was getting calls from Atlantic tertiary press reps lugging Terry cross country that year and he couldn't stop raving about the one interviewer who actually know who the band was [and yeah, Terry, you promised to send me a copy of a then unreleased in America Charlie LP ... but you never did). Shortly thereafter you attempted to do some writing with my cousin Wendy Waldman -- I was in hospital (broken neck) by the time that happened and so have never talked to WW about it. Guess it didn't go too well, eh?

Damn. It's like twenty five years on... Where have they gone - all (my) dreams???

How many hours have I listened to Charlie since 1976? You're a part of my life. Married in 1988 and danced our first dance to "Spend My Life With You". Words aren't enough, but thanks.

Hi all,
Just a reminder of the Yahoo Discussion group if anyone wants to join up (link above).

There is an interview with Terry Thomas on there which Peter Ryder and myself undertook by e-mail and alos a number of polls to find favourite albums / and tracks.

I've also started an excel database of tracks and albums that the various members have appeared on. Feel free to update as it is a work in progress.

For those looking, keep a look out on E-bay as I have seen a few copies of the First Decca single on there recently (I managed to get one).

Are you going to be touring again? Don't miss out Sheffield - try the Boardwalk - I/we would love to see you all again. BTW, a fantastic new CD, you've lost nothing over the years. Lyrics and music just as great and as poignant and funny as ever.

Why dont you guys have your music remastered and mixed in 5.1 with your harmoneys it would be great! I have most of your albums and was VERY disapointed to read that the mastering sucked on the cds and then i see you say it as well on your site ,,Your fans desirve more lets move tward 5.1 remastering to your approval and get a whole new fan base as well as the ones you already have,
Thanks Paul Davey paul_dav@comcast.net

I've been a big fan of yours since the late 70's. I was doing an unrelated search when I found to my surprise that you all have released a new album ur CD; "Kitchens of Distinction". What can I say, you've made my day. With none of the new "popular" music to my liking hearing you all again takes me back to a simpler day and time when rock, now classic rock, ruled the airwaves. Thank you all for taking the time to reunite and making the effort to record a new album together. Us "classic rockers really appreciate your efforts immensely. Any chance of you all releasing a LIVE CD in the for foreseeable future? Take care of yourselves and don't feel you have to wait 20+ years to release your next CD.

Sincerely!
Asche Ackerman.
